This document outlines specific rules and regulations for the second year of the Master’s Programme ROSP. It is not a legal document and does not replace the regulations of IP Paris nor Université Paris-Saclay nor those of the institute you are affiliated with.
Grades and semester 1 validation
Grades are numbers between 0 (total failure) and 20 (perfect score) for each teaching unit, according to an exam (written or oral) and possibly lab sessions or other forms of grading.
To validate the semester, your grades must meet both of the following conditions:
- all grades must be at least 7;
- the average of all grades (weighted by teaching units’ ECTS) must be at least 10.
Accordingly, if you get a grade below 7, you must pass a second-session exam for the corresponding teaching unit; and if you get a grade below 10 you may request a second-session exam.
Absences
Attendance is mandatory for exams, lab sessions, and some lectures at the discretion of the professors in charge of teaching units, to be announced at the first period of each teaching unit.
Absences will incur penalties unless justified by a doctor’s certificate or other documentation of being unable to attend. Such documents must be submitted to your institute’s administrative contact and copied to the professor in charge of the teaching unit.
Internship and semester 2 validation
To validate the second semester and the Master, you must complete an internship of at least 17 weeks, in a company or an academic institute, on a topic connected to the Master. It is your responsibility to find an internship. Your institute typically will make a job search engine available, and some offers will be posted on this page.
Internship grade will be determined according to your institute’s regulations. Typically, you will be assigned a tutor that will check the suitability of your work and grade it with input from your company supervisor. In addition, you will give a presentation of your work before a jury of professors including your tutor.
The overall grade must be at least 10 to validate the internship.
